A detailed portrait on one of the strugglers either or this struggle was political, social, or artistic
Profile
I used to stand in line for more than three hours daily to buy bread, returning home exhausted and hardly able to prepare lunch for my husband and children. Every day my husband was complaining about the bad bread, which is full of dust and sometimes stones and he would fight with me. I felt that Mubarak is responsible for this bread, the time of my life wasted standing in bread lines and for the problems between my husband and me.I went to Tahrir square the first time on January 31, 2011. I felt happy when I listened to the cheering and shouting and I wanted to shout with other people. I found myself saying new cheers, rhymes. They were like poetry or songs or maybe plays. I felt a new feeling that I had never felt before, as if I had found myself. My habits changed, spending nights writing verses and instead of standing in bread lines I used to go to Tahrir square and recite my verses in public. Demonstrators started to gather around me and to repeat after me. I am free now and I know that I am talented. I wrote my first collection of poems and am searching for a publisher. They are all about the holy revolution.
